“I believe life’s journey of wellness encompasses the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual self; each acting as keys to unlock our innate vitality and inner resilience. Coming from a place of compassion, I meet my patients where they are on their healing path, providing individualized treatment plans for lasting results and optimal wellbeing.”
I approach each patient as a whole and unique individual, using concepts based in functional medicine. This model takes many factors into account (such as symptoms, genetics, biochemistry and lifestyle) to optimize treatment outcomes and get people back to a balanced state of wellness.
My goal as a practitioner is to find the root cause of dis-ease, help establish sustainable foundations for a healthy lifestyle, encourage the body’s innate ability to heal Itself, and help empower patients to live strong, impassioned, and vital lives.
My passion to become a Naturopathic Doctor began with my own healing journey. After the loss of my mother from a car accident when I was 21 and subsequently spending seven years in a stressful and demanding research career, I went through serious burnout, relentless grief, depression and physical decline. Deciding to leave the career behind, I opted for a wildlife job in the mountains of New Mexico where I spent my days living with nature, eating local and organic foods, receiving regular sunshine, and exercising daily. This special time in my life had a profound effect on my vitality and gave me deeper insights into the healing power of nature. I was so inspired by my experience that I decided to embark on the path of naturopathic medicine with goals of helping others reconnect with holistic living and their own innate vitality.
I graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon and am a licensed Naturopathic Doctor and Primary Care Physician in both California and Oregon. I received my B.S. in Biology at Eastern Michigan University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
While in medical school, I spent two years mentoring with Dr. Steven Sandberg-Lewis, focusing on gastroenterology, chronic illness and autoimmune disease. I also traveled to Ecuador, Peru and Tanzania, to deepen my knowledge of ancient plant-based indigenous healing practices. As a post-graduate, I completed a seven-month residency at TrueNorth Health Center in Santa Rosa, California where I went through superior training in medically supervised water-only fasting and nutrition therapy.
